Kate Carnell is an experienced company director and CEO. Kate has held positions at the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman and the position of CEO at the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Beyondblue, Australian Food and Grocery Council, the Australian General Practice Network and National Association of Forest Industries.

Gary Crispe – Executive Director

Gary is a co-founder of Racing and Sports and a highly respected thoroughbred industry expert. Gary’s heads the executive team within Racing and Sports driving strategic growth and overseeing the expansion of the business model globally, with a specific immediate focus on the USA market. key responsibilities include executive leadership, development of rating systems and IP to drive the company’s data and software platform sales. Gary has been part of the executive team that has led Racing and Sports since 1999 and has developed the strategy that has seen the overseas expansion

Greg Nichols – Non-Executive Director

Greg Nichols is an internationally renowned leader within thoroughbred horse racing, sport and wagering with global prominence as a senior executive for in excess of 30 years. In addition to his role as Chairman of Racing Australia, Greg is currently a Non-executive Director of Racing Victoria and Chairman of the AFL Coaches’ Association. Greg has also held the position of Managing Director for Sporting Affairs at Betfair.

Sophie Karzis – Non-Executive Director

  1. Juris LLB and admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria as an Australian solicitor and barrister. Member of the Law Institute of Victoria and Governance Institute of Australia

Sophie is a qualified legal practitioner specialising in ASX listing rules and Corporation law. Sophie has provided general counsel and company secretarial services to a number of ASX listed companies such as Adacel Technologies Limited, Afterpay Limited, Gale Pacific Limited, John Lyng Group Limited, Maggie Beer Holdings Limited, Midway Limited, Whispir Limited. Sophie is a former non-executive director of ASX listed Crowd Media Holdings Limited and currently holds non-executive directorships roles at Afterpay Ventures Limited, Collingwood Football Club Foundation and Crown Media Holdings Limited

James Palmer – Non-Executive Director

After 20 years with a Big 4 professional services firm – ten of those as a partner – in 2015, James

sought to broaden his professional experience and retired from the partnership to pursue a

career comprising Board directorships and Audit committee roles and consulting. Still in the

midst of his working career he is looking to apply the experience he has accumulated from

working in professional services in the UK, US, Sydney and Canberra to the boardroom.

Dynamic, expert in financial accounting, external and internal audit, risk advisory and corporate

 

governance, James has a rare mix of both public sector and private sector experience.
